Instructor Spotlight: Sarah Dennings

Meet Sarah, an energetic and passionate instructor at our Sweat Fixx Arlington studio! With nine months of experience as a Sweat Fixx instructor, she has quickly become a cherished part of our community. Her journey began with a love for lifting, but as she sought a more motivating environment, she discovered Sweat Fixx and fell in love with the vibrant community and positive energy.

You can catch Sarah teaching on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM in the intense TRAIN class, followed by her engaging SCULPT class at 6:30 PM. She brings her passion for heavy lifting and total body strength to every session, ensuring clients feel empowered and excited to improve their physical abilities. On Saturdays at 10 AM, she leads the exhilarating GRIT class, where her enthusiasm and commitment shine through!

How long have you been at Sweat Fixx and what caused you to want to join the team?
I have been a Sweat Fixx instructor for about 9 months! I’ve always been into lifting, but as I got older, felt I needed more group-style settings to keep me motivated. I found Sweat Fixx and fell in love with the community and energy!

What is your favorite class to teach/take and why?
My favorite to teach and take is a tie between GRIT and TRAIN. I love the emphasis on heavy lifting, but also the ability to watch clients and myself improve over time, especially with their physical strength. The formats keep it interesting, too, so it’s always exciting to teach and take.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone new who is trying out SF for the first time?
Try everything, and eventually you’ll find what works for you! There’s something for everyone at Sweat Fixx, but what I love most is the emphasis on building total body strength through both lifting AND cardio. Test out all the class types, find your favorites, but never be afraid to mix it up either.

What’s one song that instantly gets you hyped during a workout?
Any pop remix (currently Tate McCrae).

What’s your go-to post-workout meal or snack?
A Chomp stick and the biggest iced coffee I can find.

Which Sweat Fixx class challenges you the most personally—and why?
ROW! I was never a strong rower starting out, and I love setting big goals for myself with meters and trying to achieve them in class.

What’s your favorite motivational quote or mantra?
When your mind wants to give up, your body has a little bit more to give.

How do you like to spend your time outside the studio?
When I’m not at the studio, I am either hanging with my nephew and family, on a run (I’m running the NYC marathon in 2026!), or laying on my couch reading/watching a show.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
Tour manager for any of my favorite artists (Harry Styles, especially).

If you could only use one piece of equipment for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A mini band (love a glute burn).

What’s one fitness trend you secretly love?
The current fad around running and other types of movement! Strength training is the foundation for everything in my opinion, but all movement is good movement, and there’s so much benefit in different styles of training.

If Sweat Fixx had superlatives, what would you win (most likely to…)?
Most likely to be over-caffeinated on the mic or most likely to kill your glutes.
